How to use this, in four steps
You are on step 1. Nothing is locked — browse everything first, then check the ones that look relevant.
See what you may be entitled to
Browse every verified benefit in your state. No questions, no account — everything is open.
Check whether you qualify
Open any benefit and answer a few questions about that one. We stop as soon as we know.
Get the letter that shows the finding
A VA Benefit Summary Letter configured to show service connection and permanence satisfies most offices without disclosing any diagnosis.
File before the deadline
The deadline for the main property tax relief is: March 1. File with your county assessor.
Which of these sounds like you?
Pick one and we will narrow the list. You can change or clear it at any point.
Two things sharpen this a lot
Both optional. Your county decides where you file and what a property tax exemption is actually worth; your rating decides which thresholds you cross.
Where do you live?
We use this once to work out your county, because property tax is decided county by county. No benefit is ever matched on a ZIP code alone.
Your VA disability status
What does my rating actually unlock?
Read the record for the test that actually applies in Arizona — several reliefs across this corpus turn on the words on your VA letter rather than on the number.

From tax year 2026 the property of a veteran with a 100% service-connected rating is exempt from taxation in full under A.R.S. 42-11111(C). Below 100%, the dollar exemption is multiplied by the disability percentage. The income limits apply either way — including to the 100% tier, which is the part most people assume is unconditional. The 2026 exemption amount is $4,873, with income limits of $39,865 and $47,826.
VeteransApplies statewideFull exemption at a 100% rating; below that, $4,873 for 2026 multiplied by the disability percentage

Compensation for active service in the armed forces, the reserves or the National Guard is subtracted in full from Arizona taxable income, and has been since tax year 2006. Combat-zone pay is inside it. Residents claim it on Form 140 and part-year residents on Form 140PY. This is a different paragraph of A.R.S. 43-1022 from the military RETIREMENT subtraction — the two are separate and both exist.

A.R.S. 28-5802(C) exempts one personally owned vehicle from the vehicle licence tax and the registration fee for a bona fide Purple Heart recipient with an honorable discharge. No disability rating is involved. Because Arizona's vehicle licence tax is value-based and charged annually, the saving recurs every year for as long as you hold the vehicle.

A.R.S. 15-1802(G) classifies an honorably discharged veteran as an Arizona resident for tuition IMMEDIATELY, on objective evidence of intent to live in Arizona, and the classification is kept while you stay continuously enrolled. The usual one-year domicile wait does not apply. Subsection (L) does the same for anyone using Chapter 30, 31, 33 or 35 education benefits after 90 or more days of active duty — including Fry Scholarship users and people using transferred Post-9/11 entitlement, who need not be veterans themselves.
