What this benefit is

Resident tuition, mandatory fees and academic service fees paid for a serving member of the Oklahoma National Guard at an Oklahoma public college or university, up to 18 credit hours a semester and 120 undergraduate hours.

What it's worth: Resident tuition, mandatory fees and academic service fees, up to 18 hours a semester

  • The Regents describe coverage of resident tuition, mandatory fees and academic service fees at Oklahoma public colleges and universities.
  • Undergraduate coverage runs to 120 hours or a bachelor’s degree; graduate coverage to 40 hours or a master’s degree.
  • No per-hour rate is published alongside the programme, so no dollar figure is claimed here.

Who is entitled to it

  • The assistance runs to the serving member.
  • Your home is in Oklahoma.

Answer a few questions about this benefit specifically — we only ask what this one actually depends on, and we stop as soon as we know.

How to claim it

Deadline: Fall: 1 April to 30 June. Spring: 1 October to 31 December
  1. 1Apply inside the window, not at enrolment. The fall window closes 30 June and the spring window closes 31 December — a member who waits until classes start has missed the term.
  2. 2Be admitted and enrolled at an Oklahoma public college or university first; the programme does not reach private or out-of-state institutions.
  3. 3Hold the grade. Undergraduates are asked for a 2.0; graduate students for a 3.0.
  4. 4Stay a participating member in good standing. The programme is described as conditional on satisfactory participation, and a member who fails the conditions can be asked to repay part of what was received.
  5. 5Check the hour count before a second degree. The caps are 120 undergraduate hours and 40 graduate hours, not a fresh allowance per programme.

Worth knowingThe Regents administer the money; the Military Department decides whether a member is in good standing. Two agencies means two ways for an application to stall, so confirm both sides before the window closes.
Known gapThe statute creating the programme has not been read — the Statutes host refused every connection this session — so nothing is claimed here about the length of the service obligation or how a repayment is calculated.
