How to claim it
Deadline: At least 30 days before the last day of your annual registration month- 1Apply annually to the county treasurer — forms are at every county treasurer office — not less than 30 days before the last day of your registration month. Residency is checked at initial application and at renewal.
- 2The county treasurer issues one pair of plates a year exempt from the registration fees; the plate carries a distinctive symbol or letters identifying a disabled veteran, without the county numeral.
- 3One additional pair for a motorcycle or a multipurpose vehicle can be purchased at the regular fees.
