How to claim it

Deadline: Up to 60 days before the class or semester starts, and not less than eight days before
  1. 1Apply for the state waiver and federal tuition assistance first. The agreement requires that you applied for, maximised, or were ineligible for both before assistance is paid.
  2. 2Submit inside the window: up to 60 days before the class or semester starts, and not less than eight days before. Late is not paid.
  3. 3Understand what you sign. The agreement is a two-year commitment to the Guard, and the amount is recoupable if the commitment is not fulfilled. Members in the Simultaneous Membership Program are exempt because they incur a commitment through commissioning.
  4. 4Get a C or above in every course. A lower grade is repayable and blocks further assistance until the state is repaid.
  5. 5Give the school your approved form within ten days of approval, and send proof of your degree plan and your grades within 30 days of finishing the course.
  6. 6Choose one route each fiscal year: state tuition assistance or student school loan repayment, not both.
  7. 7Do not expect a refund. No assistance funding can be refunded to the student under any circumstance.
