Deployed? Your Licence Fees Are Waived and Its Expiry Moves to 90 Days After You Get Back

Utah's Division of Professional Licensing waives INITIAL AND RENEWAL processing fees on request for active duty service members, and waives them again when converting a licence to INACTIVE status. Separately, a licence that EXPIRES DURING ACTIVE DUTY IS AUTOMATICALLY EXTENDED until 90 days after the last date of that duty. Automatic matters: you do not lose the licence by being unreachable. But the FEE WAIVERS ARE ON REQUEST, so those you do have to ask for.

How to claim it

Deadline: Extension runs to 90 days after active duty ends
  1. 1Ask for the fee waiver — it is not applied automatically, unlike the extension.
  2. 2If you are deploying and will not practise, ask about converting to inactive status; those fees are waived too.
  3. 3You do not need to renew from deployment. The expiry moves to 90 days after your last date of active duty.
  4. 4Diary that 90-day date on your return, because it is when the extension ends.
  5. 5Confirm your licence is one DOPL issues rather than another board's.
