How to claim it

Deadline: With the annual NJ-1040
  1. 1Check the date of the service the disability arises from. On or after 11 September 2001 is the gate.
  2. 2Check your own income against the cap for your filing status — $100,000 or $50,000.
  3. 3If siblings or others also provide care, work out the apportionment before filing rather than each claiming the full amount.
  4. 4Have the veteran's federal disability compensation figure; the credit is capped by it as well as by $675.
  5. 5File Schedule NJ-WWC with the return.
