How to claim it
- 1Check the veteran gate: 100% permanent and total from service, death from a service-connected disability, death after discharge from an in-service injury or illness, or POW/MIA classification.
- 2Eligible students are spouses and surviving spouses, biological and adopted children and stepchildren — children to age 26, extendable to 31 for their own active duty — meeting the school's in-state residency rules.
- 3Plan degrees around the hard shape: ONE community-college degree, diploma or certificate AND ONE bachelor's — master's, doctoral and professional programmes are excluded entirely.
- 4File NDVA Form 3 before the term begins; the waiver is not retroactive to terms already started.
