15% Off Camping and Lodging at Every State Park — Veterans, Not Just Disabled Ones

Mississippi takes 15% off camping and lodging rates at its state parks for veterans, and separately for active service members, people aged 62 and over, and those with a 100% service-connected disability. The point worth noticing is that VETERANS ARE THEIR OWN CATEGORY — you do not need a disability rating or to be 62. Holidays and special events are excluded. For the 100% category a VA letter stating a 100% service-connected disability is accepted as proof.

What it's worth: 15% off camping and lodging at Mississippi state parks

  • 15% off camping and lodging rates.
  • VETERANS ARE A CATEGORY IN THEIR OWN RIGHT — no disability rating and no age threshold.
  • Active service members qualify, as do people aged 62 and over, and those with a 100% service-connected disability, each as separate categories.
  • HOLIDAYS AND SPECIAL EVENTS ARE EXCLUDED.
  • For the 100% category, a VA letter stating a 100% service-connected disability is accepted as proof.
  • The residency test is not established from the sources reviewed — ask when booking if you live out of state.

Answer a few questions about this benefit specifically — we only ask what this one actually depends on, and we stop as soon as we know.

How to claim it

  1. 1Ask for the veteran rate when booking, not at check-out.
  2. 2Carry your DD214, veteran ID or a driver's licence with a veteran designation.
  3. 3Check the dates. The discount does not apply on holidays or during special events, which is when parks are busiest.
  4. 4If you are 62 or over, or rated 100%, ask which category gives the better rate — they are separate.
  5. 5If you live out of state, ask before booking. The residency position is not published.
