Iowa awards an honorary high school diploma to an honorably discharged veteran who left an Iowa high school without graduating in order to enlist, with service in the First World War (6 April 1917 to 11 November 1918), the Second World War (16 September 1940 to 31 December 1946), Korea (25 June 1950 to 31 January 1955) or Vietnam (28 February 1961 to 5 May 1975). Eligibility is established jointly by the veterans and education departments. Apply with the DD-214.
