- The cemetery states there is no interment fee for eligible veterans, and that there is an interment fee for eligible veteran spouses and dependent children, due at the time of interment.
- The interment fee equals the current VA burial plot allowance and is subject to change each fiscal year. The published figure is $978 for fiscal year 2025, and prices change each 1 October.
- For an eligible veteran the cemetery bills the VA directly for the burial plot allowance, which covers the veteran’s interment fee, the grave marker, use of the committal shelter and perpetual care of the site.
- Guardsmen and reservists, their spouses and dependent children also pay the interment fee, plus a separate grave marker charge of $400 for a casket and $250 for an urn or scatter.
- Upper casket burial plots carry an extra $700 per person because they are unlined gravesites; the lower casket plots near the Visitor Center have pre-placed concrete vault liners and are included in the veteran’s benefit.
- Memorial markers, for those whose final disposition allowed no grave marker elsewhere, cost $250 for a veteran or spouse and $500 for a guardsman, reservist or their spouse.

How to claim it
- 1Pre-register. It costs nothing, it does not oblige you to be buried here and it does not reserve a plot — but it puts proof of eligibility on file so a family is not chasing records after a death. Allow 4 to 8 weeks for processing.
- 2Check that the DD-214 or equivalent shows all four things the cemetery needs: active duty service, retirement status or enlistment term completion; character of service; dates of entry and exit; and highest rank achieved. Missing details delay the service until eligibility is confirmed.
- 3Send copies, never originals — documents are not returned.
- 4At need, the funeral director contacts the cemetery, or a family may meet cemetery staff in person after their first meeting with the funeral home. Have two date and time preferences ready; the calendar fills quickly.
- 5Bring payment on the day. All cemetery fees are due at interment, by cheque, cash or money order, and the cemetery cannot accept pre-payment.
