- 1The gate is service, not disability: 90 or more CUMULATIVE days of active duty in time of war — non-consecutive days count — with an honorable discharge, and domicile in the state when accepted.
- 2The waiver runs at 100% for credit programs at the state universities and community colleges, undergraduate and graduate, and at 50% for Charter Oak course fees.
- 3National Guard members activated under Title 10 count toward the veteran definition; serving Guard members, dependent children of those killed after 11 September 2001, and dependents of the missing and captured have their own extensions of the waiver.
