CorrectionThe page is headed "Fee Waiver" and its own text says the applicant "must still pay the initial license fee". Automatic licensure waives the requirement to meet this state’s qualifications, not the cost of the licence. Anyone budgeting on the heading will be short.
Worth knowingTwo agencies name two different enabling acts for what they both call automatic licensure: the environmental quality division names an act of 2021, the labour and licensing department names an act of 2019 and a code section in the professions title. Ask the board that licenses your own occupation which authority it is operating under.
Known gapThe codified section behind the 2021 act was not read. The legislature host and the administrative rules host both refuse this project’s tools, and the linked departmental PDFs were not reachable, so the timeframe the board must decide within is not published here.
