Should immigrants be required to pass a citizenship test to demonstrate a basic understanding of our country’s language, history, and government?

U.S. Citizenship Test is an examination that all immigrants must pass to gain United States citizenship. It covers topics on history, the constitution, and the government.
Those in favor consider it imperative for immigrants to adapt, adjust and evolve.
Opponents claim memorizing random information doesn’t determine a good citizen.

    I agree with you to a point Christopher. Yet not many people can even pass the Citizenship Test so it’s right and wrong.

    Having said that immigrants should have to pass a test to become citizens, (as they do now), voters should too. I’m not talking about Jim Crow guessing the number of peanuts in a jar, but fairly administered, equally provided. Take it once as part of a required high school civics class that every child should be required to take. Once you take it and pass, you never have to take it again. If you don’t pass, you have two more opportunities to pass it before you can vote in your first election, and thereafter, one chance per national election. Something like that…
