24 Feb TRICARE – Eligible Family Members
The following individuals are eligible for various forms of TRICARE:
Uniformed Service members, which includes active duty and retired members of the
- U.S. Army
- U.S. Air Force
- U.S. Navy
- U.S. Marine Corps
- U.S. Coast Guard
- Commissioned Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service
- Commissioned Corps of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association
- Their families
National Guard/Reserve members, which includes members of the
- Army National Guard
- Army Reserve
- Navy Reserve
- Marine Corps Reserve
- Air National Guard
- Air Force Reserve
- U.S. Coast Guard Reserve
- Their families
Survivors
- Former spouses (not remarried and not covered by private insurance)
- Medal of Honor recipients and their families
- Others registered in the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS)
For coverage purposes, a family member must be a
- Spouse
- Unremarried widow or widower
- Unmarried child under 21 years of age (including adopted children and stepchildren)
- Unmarried child over 21 and under 23 years of age who is a full-time student
- Unmarried child over 23 and under 26 years of age who is a still a dependent
- Dependent parent or parent-in-law
