“The Common Core State Standards Initiative describes what K–12 students throughout the United States should understand in English language arts and mathematics at the end of each school grade.
The United States has sunk considerably in educational rankings over the last few decades. Those who support Common Core State Standards argue that these are internationally benchmarked which means that U.S standards will compare favorably to standards of other countries. Opponents argue that it’s a difficult adjustment for students and teachers, with no immediate proven results.
What are your thoughts? Do you support Common Core national standards?
