24 Feb TRICARE Reserve Select
TRICARE Reserve Select is available to all National Guard and Reserve members and their families, whether or not they are on active-duty (unless covered by the Federal Employees Health Benefits program). You have the option to enroll year-round, and coverage is available worldwide.
As with other TRICARE programs, if you select a non-network provider, you will have to submit your own claims. In-network providers will typically file the paperwork for you.
Coverage is available in Member-Only and Member-and-Family versions. It requires payment of a monthly premium, in addition to deductibles and cost-sharing. You will be responsible for a two-month premium upfront payment upon enrollment. The premiums are adjusted annually. For Member-Only plans, the premium is $50.75/month through December 31, 2015, and $47.90/month in 2016. For Member and Family Plans, the premium is $205.62/month until through December 31, 2014, and $210.84/month in 2016.
Coverage is not restricted and allows you to see any provider you wish.
To enroll, you must have one of the following:
- a Common Access Card (CAC)
- a DFAS (MyPay) Account
- a DoD Self-Service Logon (DS Logon) Premium/Level 2 account
Using one of the three, you can log in to the DMDC Reserve Component Purchased TRICARE Application website at https://www.tricare.mil/changes.
