30 Aug The Word Is Out – CBD Relieves Chronic Pain!
Chronic pain has become a burning issue for almost 20 million veterans. Although chronic pain isn’t deadly, it can certainly make living difficult. Whether young or old, anybody can suffer from chronic pain. Numerous factors can cause it. Strenuous training programs, combat exposure, lifting heavyweight, and aging are some of the most common factors, among others. War veterans and members of the armed forces expose themselves to dangerous situations, some of which could lead to severe injuries. Even an old injury could be the reason for further complications.
Have you ever heard of CBD?
If not, then you’ve come to the right place. There are a few natural ways through which you can experience some relief from chronic pain, and CBD is one of them. For mild pain, you can take the help of body workouts and maintaining proper posture throughout the day as a viable solution for it. But, once the pain gets severe and stretches for more than 12 weeks, it becomes difficult to hit the gym every day. For prolonged and severe chronic pain, CBD could be a perfect solution.
Cannabidiol or CBD is one of over 140 identified cannabinoids found in the Cannabis Plant. Now that the name of the Cannabis Plant has been taken don’t think of it only as a drug. Not every cannabinoid produces a psychoactive effect, and that’s a proven fact. CBD is known for offering relief from different cognitive and physiological disorders such as anxiety, epilepsy, chronic pain, depression, and others. Various studies on CBD have demonstrated that.
How CBD functions inside the body?
The Endocannabinoid System (ECS) in our body naturally produces endocannabinoids that bind with the two cannabinoid receptors, CB1 and CB2. It is responsible for regulating several physiological and cognitive processes inside our body. Interestingly, both CB1 and CB2 receptors are distributed throughout our Central and Peripheral Nervous Systems. The CB1 receptors are mostly present inside the Central Nervous System, and, CB2 receptors are usually active in the immune system.
CBD effectively binds with both of these receptors. However, it technically binds more with CB2 receptors than CB1 receptors. That explains why it doesn’t produce any psychoactive or ‘High’ effect. Another prominent cannabinoid found in the Cannabis Plant, Tetrahydrocannabinol, or commonly known as THC is what gives people the ‘High’ effect.
Choosing The Right CBD Product
Before we dive deep into the products, it’s necessary for you to know that there are mainly two kinds of CBDs, and one of them is not legal. CBD products extracted from the Cannabis Plant are still illegal in the United States. However, if you have CBD that is extracted from hemp, you won’t be in trouble. Thanks to Farm Bill 2018, medical usage of CBD that is derived from the hemp has been legalized throughout the states.
CBD oil has been proven to be both safe for human consumption and effective with animals, such as dogs, cats, and even reptiles like a crested gecko.
