A term limit is a law which limits the amount of time a political representative can hold an elected office. Currently, there are no term limits for Congressional terms.
Those who favor term limits think lawmakers focus more on politics rather than policies and imposing term limits can bring a positive shift.
Opponents argue that elections already act as term limits. They think imposing term limits would remove the power from voters in favor of an arbitrary law.
