“Under the Federal Election Campaign Act, donations are subject to limits. It is important to note that a campaign is prohibited from engaging contributions that surpass the limits. However, there are multiple loopholes which political parties take advantage of and flout the policies.
Proponents of such limits argue that billions of dollars are wasted on extravagant political campaigns which solve no purpose. Opponents debate that donation is a legal personal decision and should not be under government scrutiny.
