“The trade war between China and the United States is escalating swiftly. President Donald Trump recently proposed 10 percent tariffs on about $200bn worth of Chinese products.
Proponents of increased tariffs claim that Chinese trade policies are a threat to the United States economy and such taxes are the only way to force a change. Opponents believe that free trade increases purchasing power and such tariffs can reduce it.
