06 Feb Should the U.S government pay less attention overseas and concentrate more on problems at home?
“Getting the American public’s attention, let alone commitment to deal with international issues is as challenging as it has ever been in the modern era. Citizens are already feeling burned by Iraq and Afghanistan and burdened by domestic concerns. If a problem is not an imminent threat to the country’s sovereignty, it can be left alone. However, the focus cannot shift from critical issues like protecting the U.S. against terrorist attacks, preventing the spread of weapons of mass destruction and protecting American jobs.
The country is already plagued by depleting federal reserves and an ongoing trade war with China is not at all helping U.S industries.
What do you think? Should the U.S government pay less attention overseas and concentrate more on problems at home?
