Should immigrants be required to learn English?

The U.S. nationality law expects applicants to have a practical knowledge of the English language to achieve citizenship. There are exceptions to this requirement for older applicants and those with mental or physical disabilities.
Those in favor claim, lack of English can lead to poor work performance and disrupt social adaptability.
Those who oppose believe immigrants should not be forced to do so and treated differently because of the same.
