Should health insurers be allowed to deny coverage to individuals who have a pre-existing condition?

“Affordable Care Act or Obamacare is a United States federal statute which authorizes coverage for pre-existing conditions at no extra premium. Trump administration has allowed Association Health Plans under which companies can impose higher premiums or deny coverage based on medical history and pre-existing conditions.
Those in favor for coverage of pre-existing conditions believe that it is immoral to ban people with pre-existing conditions from getting health insurance. Opponents argue that this raises cost marginally and can negatively impact the quality of healthcare provided.
What are your thoughts? Should health insurers be allowed to deny coverage to individuals who have a pre-existing condition?
