12 Dec Do you support mandatory minimum prison sentences for people charged with drug possession?
“The Fair Sentencing Act of 2010 was an Act of Congress that was signed into federal law by U.S. President Barack Obama eliminating the mandatory minimum sentence for simple possession of crack cocaine and increased statutory fines.
Opponents of mandatory minimum sentences argue that imposing lengthy prison terms on non-violent criminals makes them predisposed to commit new crimes upon release. Proponents say that these penalties are needed to punish drug cartels and those engaged in the drug trade.
What do you think? Do you support mandatory minimum prison sentences for people charged with drug possession?”
Today is the day. Now is the moment. Vote for change.
