Wells Fargo Introduces Military Spouse Hiring Program for Five Years

Wells Fargo & Company (NYSE: WFC) has launched its Military Spouse Homefront Heroes Hiring program, which will provide mid-to high-level remote, hybrid, and in-office career opportunities for spouses currently serving. The new initiative will onboard 100 new staff each year for the next five years.

In preparation for introducing 100 new positions in early June 2022, Wells Fargo's Military Spouse Homefront Heroes Hiring (HHH) program is already accepting interested candidates into its talent community. The HHH program staff will assist candidates and hiring managers with resume building and interview training to help applicants clarify transferrable abilities and potential job gaps during a virtual hiring event. The virtual hiring event will take place in August 2022, and the program will begin on September 12, 2022.

In part, due to the lack of portable careers and the high number of permanent moves, military spouse unemployment is substantially higher than the national average, according to Sean Passmore, head of Wells Fargo's Enterprise Military & Veteran Initiative. There is no one-size-fits-all answer for unemployed or underemployed military spouses. HHH's size and scope indicate our grasp of the particular employment issues faced by military spouses and our commitment to assisting in their resolution."

Human Resources, Consumer & Small Business Banking, Technology, Wealth & Investment Management, and Consumer Lending will all have openings. Each line of business will have 20 positions, with new hiring starting on September 12, 2022.

Wells Fargo has several programs geared toward serving and hiring military personnel. Among them are:

The Veteran Employment Transition (VET) Program is a nationally competitively paid 8+ week Spring and Fall internship program for experienced talent that leads to a full-time position depending on success.

Military Apprenticeships: A Department of Labor-sponsored experiential training program that leads to skill certification for applicants who do not initially fulfill the standards for a non-apprentice equivalent position.

Boots to Banking is a one-of-a-kind Wells Fargo initiative that uses military-specific employment events to attract, prepare, and hire military individuals for various career opportunities.

The Corporate Fellowship Program, in collaboration with the US Chamber of Commerce Foundation's Hiring Our Heroes Initiative, welcomes military people within six months of separation for a 12-week fellowship experience to help them find full-time work.
