Virginia War Memorial seeks Vietnam War Veterans' Photos

Virginia War Memorial seeks Vietnam War Veterans' Photos

There is a need for Vietnam War veterans from Virginia, as the Virginia War Memorial will be hosting a new exhibit on that subject.

During the exhibition "50 Years Beyond The Vietnam War Experience," we will endeavor to share untold stories and experiences of veterans throughout their service and professional portraits of those same veterans fifty years later.

There will be 50 photos of Vietnam veterans from Virginia exhibited by the museum to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Paris Peace Accords, which officially ended the Vietnam War on Jan. 27, 2023. In the future, these photographs will accompany professional portraits taken of veterans today.

Laura Hatcher, a veteran photographer, will take current photographs of selected veterans for the exhibit, a collaborative effort between the memorial and Hatcher.

The veterans are requested to submit their digital photos in the following formats by April 30th: jpg, tiff and PDF. Once the veteran has submitted their pictures, staff members will review them.
