'Hops for Heroes' Brews Support for America's Servicemen and Women
Professional craft breweries of all sizes will brew homefront IPATM as a fun and unique way to raise funds and honor U.S. service members, veterans, and their families.
Hops for Heroes runs from Memorial Day through Veterans Day. As part of the Homefront IPATM campaign, breweries that sign on commit to donating all net proceeds from the taproom and packaged beer sales of Homefront IPATM to Soldiers' Angels.
Over 982,141 service members, veterans, wounded heroes, and their families received assistance from the nonprofit's programs in 2021 alone.
Hops for Heroes has taken a year off due to COVID-restrictions in taprooms, but will return in 2022 with four breweries:
The Founders Brewing Company (Grand Rapids and Detroit, Michigan).
- (Ashland, Va.) Center of the Universe Brewing Co.
- The 1700 Brewing Company (Newport News, Va.)
- The Palm Harbor Brewery (Palm Harbor, Fla.)
The President of Soldiers' Angels, Amy Palmer, said, "Craft breweries aren't only producing great beer that people enjoy; they're also deeply involved in their local communities.
With the program, we've been overwhelmed by the craft beer community's support to our vets, military members, and their families. We are excited to work with breweries that wish to give back to those who have volunteered to serve our country.
Soldiers' Angels, founded by General George Patton's family in 2003, is a national nonprofit organization based in San Antonio, Texas.
The organization provides aid, comfort, and resources to the military, veterans, and their families through its global network of tens of thousands of volunteers - from sending care packages to deployed soldiers to giving food to low-income and homeless veterans.
Chris Ray, the owner of Center of the Universe Brewing Co., stated, "Hops for Heroes and Homefront IPATM have always been a source of pride since we began the program in 2011. Now that Soldiers' Angels is at the helm, we are thrilled once again to create an amazing beer for even greater causes."
1700 Brewing is proud to be a part of the Hops for Heroes campaign this year, as we are 100 percent veteran-owned and operated. To give 100 percent of all proceeds to help underserved veterans makes sense, and we are honored to support Soldiers' Angels.
"This year, we are pleased and privileged to join forces with Soldiers' Angels and Hops for Heroes. We believe our nation's armed forces deserve our full support as a company. We are pleased to donate 100 percent of the profits from our Homefront IPATM to this worthy cause."
