Minimum Pay Increases from $16-21 for USAA Employees

USAA recently raised the minimum wage for all employees to $21 an hour to compete for the best jobs in today's market. Employees can earn more than $53,000 a year at the insurance, banking, and investment company when benefits are factored in.

As part of its plans to open a new office in Charlotte, N.C. USAA announced hiring 750 people. This new office will expand the company's footprint in Queen City by consolidating operations at 200 West Boulevard. Across the nation, USAA is looking to fill 2,600 jobs, most of which are located at the San Antonio corporate headquarters.

In addition, USAA is also offering benefit enhancements such as childcare reimbursement, a new college scholarship program, paid leave for family events, and family support to cover adoption.

The following benefits will also go into effect in 2022 through USAA's comprehensive compensation and benefits package:

  • 2022 will be the last year that premiums for medical, dental and vision insurance will increase.

  • Children under the age of four are eligible for childcare reimbursements from USAA if their salaries are less than $100,000.

  • The program offers scholarships for financially needy dependents of employees.

  • The new program provides paid leave so families can care for ill family members.

  • It may cover expenses for adoption, surrogacy and infertility treatments up to $20,000 in family support benefits.

"USAA's employees are the heart of our association, and providing a competitive pay and benefits package is one way we reward them for providing exceptional service to military members and their families," said USAA President and CEO Wayne Peacock.

USAA employees are drawn to the organization due to its mission-driven mission and meaningful career opportunities to support military families.

They strive to cultivate a diverse and inclusive culture and offer enhanced benefits, rewards, and professional development to all employees, whether they work onsite or remotely.
