The GEICO Military Service Awards Program celebrates and recognizes the various achievements of the nation's military enlisted members. GEICO has witnessed notable contributions by those who serve the civilian and military communities and their country through the years. Unfortunately, these admirable accomplishments are sometimes overlooked by the general public.

With the help of the GEICO Philanthropic Foundation, the GEICO Military Service Awards seek to highlight and publicly acknowledge some of the vital and long-lasting contributions that enlisted personnel of the Armed Services make in their communities.

Enlisted troops from each of the five branches of the military and one member of the National Guard will participate in this program.

According to the established procedures, each base, post, or unit may nominate eligible enlisted members. Nominees should have made significant contributions or achievements for the betterment of the civilian and military communities.

The accomplishments or contributions may pertain to one of the following endeavors:

• Fire safety and fire prevention

• Traffic safety and accident prevention

• Drug and alcohol abuse prevention

“We are delighted to celebrate men and women who exemplify leadership and service, both in their military jobs and in their communities,” said GEICO Vice President Kirk La. “Our organization was established in 1936, and since then, our commitment and admiration for those who serve has never wavered.”

Every year, seven honorees are awarded. The GEICO Military Team and the GEICO Philanthropic Foundation collaborate to provide GEICO Military Service Award honorees with financial awards and public recognition wherever they are currently serving.

Eligibility:

All active enlisted duty, reserve, and National Guard members with at least one year of service remaining after the deadline for award submission are eligible. Previous recipients are ineligible.

Service members can learn more about the GEICO Military Service Awards and apply through the personnel office at their installation.

GEICO must receive the nomination packages by December 1st. Early in the new year, GEICO will make the final selections and notify the winners.
