Car Maxx, Operation Homefront Join Forces, Donate $100,000 to Military Families

While the nation pauses to honor veterans this month, CarMax Inc., the nation's largest used car retailer, announced a new partnership with Operation Homefront, a nonprofit organization that serves military families. Operation Homefront's highly regarded Critical Financial Assistance and other programs will be supported by an initial gift of $100,000 under the partnership.

CarMax's news release mentions that the company already had quite a connection with the military because more than 1,700 employees served in the military prior to its acquisition.

CarMax said it would look for ways to help Operation Homefront fulfill its mission through, in addition to financial support, partnering with the charity for "MaxGratitude" letters of support, organizing back-to-school fundraising drives, and volunteering at community events to support the organization's goals.

The Portland Trail Blazers and the NBA and WNBA teams have selected CarMax as their official auto retailer. The Portland Trail Blazers, an NBA team, and Operation Homefront, an organization that provides bicycles to military children, teamed up with CarMax to deliver bicycles to more than 50 military children. Operating in partnership with companies like CarMax, Operation Homefront has provided critical financial assistance worth over $30 million to military families throughout the United States.

Operation Homefront said it had assisted nearly 50,000 military families through partnerships with CarMax, providing more than $30 million in critical financial assistance.

Through 11 Days of Impact, Operations Homefront, in partnership with CarMax and several of the organization's partners, will underscore the importance of serving America's military families throughout Veterans Day.
