Angelo State University Recognized as Top-Friendly Veteran School
Angelo State University has earned national recognition as one of the top veteran-friendly schools in the U.S. for 2021, by both U.S. Veterans Magazine and the MilitaryBenefits.info independent online information guide for military and veteran benefits, according to an ASU press release.
U.S. Veterans Magazine named ASU as one of only 10 Texas public universities in its "Best of the Best Top Veteran-Friendly Schools" list. The list was compiled using market research and survey responses about available benefits and programs for military and veteran students.
MilitaryBenefits.info named ASU as one of only six Texas public universities in its "Veteran Friendly Colleges 2021" list, based on the number of specific programs, services and military education benefits available for active-duty personnel and veterans.
"The entire ASU campus continues to strive to provide the finest customer service possible for our veteran and active-duty students, and this recognition is proof that we remain among the tops in the nation in providing that support," Susan Williams, director of veteran and military affairs, said in the release. "It is our honor to be able to serve those who have served."
The "Best of the Best Top Veteran-Friendly Schools" list will be published in the fall issue of U.S. Veterans Magazine that will be available in print and digital formats in mid-August.
The U.S. Veterans Magazine and MilitaryBenefits.info listings are the latest accolades received by Angelo State to treat military and veteran students and their families. VIQTORY Media and G.I. Jobs magazine have named ASU a "Military Friendly School" every year since 2010 and consistently ranked ASU among the nation's top 15 in the Large Public University category. ASU has also been ranked a "Military Spouse Friendly School" multiple times by VIQTORY Media and Military Spouse magazine.
Additionally, the Military Times has named ASU among the "Best for Vets Colleges" in the U.S. since 2014.
ASU's Veterans Educational and Transitional Services Center provides enrollment and academic support for military and veteran students and special programs, networking opportunities, social and study areas, and a dedicated computer lab. The Office of Affiliated Military and Veteran Services coordinates the efforts of the VETS Center and other faculty and staff. They deal directly with ASU military and veteran students and their families.
