Military Warriors Support Foundation

Military Warriors Support Foundation

Founded by Lt. Gen. Leroy Sisco (Ret.), Military Warriors Support Foundation is a not-for-profit, charitable organization that helps combat-wounded veterans undergo a streamlined transition upon retirement.

What is the Military Warriors Support Foundation?

The foundation was founded in 2007 with the primary aim of helping combat-wounded veterans, and Gold Star families undergo a successful transition into civilian lifestyle once they retire.

Military Warriors Support Foundation offers homeownership programs, transportation assistance, recreational activities, and leadership development to facilitate the smooth transition.

The foundation has successfully awarded payment-free vehicles and around 900 mortgage-free forever homes to veterans and their families. Besides providing homes and helping combat veterans fight homelessness, Military Warriors Support Foundation also offers financial and family mentoring to combat-wounded heroes and Gold Star spouses and families.

Programs Offered By Military Warrior Support Foundation

MWSF offers a variety of programs to assist transitioning veterans. Here’s a brief of some of the most renowned programs.

Hope 4 Heroes is an opportunity for female veterans living in a shared living environment and enrolled in vocational schools, trade schools, or universities.

The program provides a monthly stipend to ease the stress of paying high costs for living in a shared environment and encourage the veterans to focus more on their new career paths.

Besides providing safe living quarters, the veterans will also contact a life financial mentor who will help the applicants manage their expenses and choose a promising career path. Under this program, the participants will communicate monthly to review budgets and find new opportunities for career growth.

To stand eligible for the Hope 4 Heroes program, the following conditions must be true:

  • You are a female veteran.
  • You must be discharged from the services on any basis other than dishonorable.
  • You are currently enrolled in a college, university, trade school or vocational school.

This program provides free vehicles to veterans injured in combat training or combat against enemy forces OR Gold Star spouses whose sponsor died in the line of duty.

The candidates also receive one year of financial and family training.

To qualify for this program, the following conditions must be met:

  • You are a veteran who was wounded in combat or combat training. (Purpleheart recipients will be preferred), or you are an unmarried, surviving spouse of a veteran who dies in battle or combat training.
  • You were honorably discharged from the services or are about to retire within 90 days.
  • You are eligible for auto insurance.
  • You do not have more than one vehicle on lease per household.

Homes 4 wounded heroes award mortgage-free homes to veterans who were wounded in combat or combat training. Home 4 Gold Stars, on the other hand, offers mortgage-free homes to GoldStar spouses or family members whose sponsor died in war or combat training.

The applicants also receive three-year financial and family mentoring to help with budgeting and grief, in some cases.

To qualify for this program, the following conditions must be met:

  • You are a veteran injured during combat or combat training in a U.S. military conflict, or you are the unmarried surviving spouse of a veteran who died in the line of action.
  • You must be retired on an honorable basis or are about to retire in 90 days.
  • You are willing to use your home for primary residence only. (Applicants who do not have an ongoing mortgage will be preferred.)

This program organizes recreational outings like hunting, fishing, trekking and golfing adventures for veterans wounded in combat or combat training. Surviving spouses of veterans who died in the line of action and didn’t remarry are also eligible for this program. The program also offers peer-to-peer mentorship to veterans and Gold Star spouses/family members.

To qualify for the upcoming events, you would have to submit the supporting documents of your condition to the Military Warriors Support Foundation.

You must meet the following conditions to qualify for this program:

  • The applicant must be a veteran wounded in combat or combat training or the surviving spouse of a veteran who died in combat or combat training.
  • The applicant was honorably retired from the services or is serving the last 90 days of their duty.

This program encourages people with spare cars and other vehicles to help wounded veterans and survivors get free vehicles.

Military Warriors Support Foundation is willing to accept the vehicle in any condition. To donate, all you need to do is fill out the donation form and wait for the team members to contact you.
