VA Suspends All Action On Veteran Debts For 60 Days

After the VA announced recently that keeping in mind the growing COVID-19 crisis, it will open its doors for Non-Veteran patients also, there was a massive outrage in the community. The Veteran healthcare facilities are already under great stress, and it could be possible that now there might not be beds left for Veterans in the VA run hospitals. 

After a long wait, finally, veterans have a piece of good news to celebrate. Many veterans will get the due relief they have been waiting for. COVID-19 pandemic has created a financial crisis for all. Keeping in mind the economic turmoil that is sure to follow, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Debt Management Center made an announcement on Friday. The USDVA has declared that it will suspend all action on veteran debts for 60 days.

It also clarified that the suspension would apply on collection action or extending repayment terms on preexisting VA debts, as per the preference of the veteran. 

This relief will apply to all sorts of veteran debts under the jurisdiction of the treasury department. The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Debt Management Center stated that it will continue to monitor and evaluate an extension of the timeline during the pandemic and will update its website www.va.gov/debtman if an extension is warranted.
