15 Sep DO YOU THINK VA HEALTH BENEFITS ARE SUFFICIENT FOR VETERANS SUFFERING FROM MENTAL DISORDERS?
In the latest tensions over Middle East policies, the Biden administration said it would give Egypt a $300 million aid package until it improved its human rights record. Seven lawmakers, led by the House Foreign Affairs Committee chairman, Gregory W. Meeks of New Your, wrote to the State Department on Tuesday expressing concern over the ongoing, pervasive, and systemic human rights violations in Egypt that threaten to destabilize it.
“The continuing reports about ongoing, pervasive, and systemic violations of human rights in Egypt, which threaten to destabilize the country, remain a source of concern for seven lawmakers, led by Gregory Meeks, chair of the House Foreign Affairs Committee.” “While the Egyptian government has released some political prisoners and launched several initiatives aimed at improving the human rights situation within the country, it has failed to take sustained and effective steps to meet the US requirements.”
The pressure to reform their human rights in Egypt grew last year when Mr. El-Sisi’s administration released a new strategy to release prisoners. This initiated an opposition and started a dialogue.
Do you agree that the administration’s support is valid or not?
