06 Dec Should every 18 year old citizen be required to provide at least one year of military service?
“U.S Military services do not mandate citizens to serve.
Those in favor believe that it will help citizens develop relevant skills and consider, only a handful of the population serving in the armed forces as unfair. Opponents consider it unnecessary because of the changing face of modern warfare, and moreover, they reflect on enlistment as a choice.
What do you think? Should every 18-year-old citizen be required to provide at least one year of military service?
“
Today is the day. Now is the moment. Vote for change.

Posted at 20:21h, 28 MayA minimum of three years just like our Israeli friends and partners. One year in a war zone is a lot, one year in the US at a base is a joke. The country needs to understand what the services need in order to remain proficient at there jobs. All services suffer from the same issues shortage of manpower and immense time in training to get a service member ready to deploy. One year is NOT sufficient.
Moreover, almost zero members of Congress have served and certainly not recently. How can we articulate the issues of our component commanders to a Congress that has no concept of what they are for or about? In a few years, this program will pay huge dividends.
