Bereavement Counseling – Vet Center
Bereavement counseling is a type of counseling that is given to the deceased family members, the spouses, children, and parents all get the counseling. Family members of the National Guards’ men and reservist who die while on duty also get the counseling. This VA‘s counseling is given at the community-based centers that are near the families of the deceased, and it’s free.
Bereavement counseling services are obtained by contacting 202 – 461 – 6530 or through email: vetcenter.bereavement@va.gov
These are specific to these specialized services. At times, counseling may be done at home or where the family is more comfortable with, and RCS staffs assist the families to contact nearest Vet centers.
