13 Mar 1500 Veterans To Get Vaccinated In A Single Day – VA Medical Center
IN PARTNERSHIP WITH NEWMAN UNIVERSITY, Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center announced offering vaccine shots to about 1500 Veterans in a single day soon after Congress gave its nod to the VA Vaccine Act.
The vaccination drive has scheduled to occur on March 20, 2021, between 8 am to 4 pm, at the Dugan-Gorges conference center, 3100 McCormick St, Wichita, Kansas.
Earlier, the priorities were only Veterans above the age of 55. However, with the Vaccine Act’s passing, the medical center is providing vaccine shots to all Veterans, regardless of age.
Veterans and VA members can get the vaccine by registering at the Dole VA healthcare center. To book a slot, Veterans can call Dole VA at 316-469-0914 from Monday to Friday between 8 am – 4.30 pm.
All the members must book an appointment; walk-ins will not be accepted. All the Veterans who are to receive the vaccine at this drive are also expected to be available after 28 days, to get the second shot.
According to Candace Ifabiyi, medical center director, VA Dole is extremely grateful for Newman University to allow them to conduct the vaccine drive at their premises.
The health care center has already distributed the shots to more than 6000 Veterans in the region and is encouraging the remaining groups to book their appointment as soon as possible.
Veterans can visit the VA’s official site to learn more about COVID-19 vaccine eligibility and application procedure.
