The U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps serves as an elite force of 6,000 highly trained and qualified health experts who are dedicated to delivering public disease prevention and health programs along with playing their part in the advancement of public health science. The PHS will expand the number of mental health providers caring for military personnel affected by deployments, veterans, and families in need of mental health services and substance use treatment.
