What is CARES?


CARES stands for Capital Asset Realignment for Enhanced Services. It is a system-wide process that reviews the structure, organization, and physical location of veterans’ health facilities throughout VA. It addresses the clinical role of small facilities, vacant space, the potential for enhanced use leases and the consolidation of services and campuses.
