What is a VA Guaranteed Home Loan?

Private lenders such as mortgage companies, savings and loans, or banks provide VA guaranteed loans to all qualified veterans to purchase a home. The lender is protected from loss through guaranty if you are unable to pay the loan. The guaranty replaces the protection the lender normally receives by requiring a down payment, allowing you to obtain favorable financing terms.
