What happens if you don’t name a beneficiary?

Your insurance proceeds will be paid By Law in case you do not name a beneficiary. The order in which the proceeds go is: first the surviving spouse, then the children, then parents and finally a duly appointed administrator of state. However, we encourage you to choose a beneficiary.
