Do you think the U.S. government is doing too much, too little, or about the right amount in terms of protecting the environment?

“U.S Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) establishes and enforces environmental regulations. There are two basic types of traditional regulatory approach. The first is a technology or design standard, which mandates specific control technologies or production processes to be used by companies to meet an emissions standard. The second is a performance-based standard which requires companies to reach an emissions standard but allows them to choose any convenient method to satisfy that standard. EPA is authorized to completely ban or phase out the use or production of a specific product, as it has done with chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) and several pesticides. Regulations can be consistent or can differ according to the size of the company, production processes, or similar factors. Regulations are often created in a manner, so that similar regulated entities are treated equally.
