What benefits and services are available for spouses and dependents of deceased veterans?

To assist the spouses and dependents of veterans who have died during duty or after leaving the military, the “Survivors” website was created by the Veterans Benefits Administration. This website is broken up into two categories: death that occurred during service and death that occurred after leaving service. Knowledge about benefits reserved for spouses, dependents, parents or children of deceased veterans is shared on this site. It also provides information about and links to other federal organizations and agencies which offer services and benefits to dependents and survivors. The Web site can be reached by clicking on the Benefits link on the VA home page and then the Survivor benefit link that appears in the dropdown menu, or by visiting: http://www.vba.va.gov/survivors/.
