What are the requirements for getting a Premium eBenefits account?

To get a Premium account, the following requirements must be met: You must be registered in the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS). For all veterans or service members who have served since the year 1982, DEERS enrollment is automatic. Those who served before 1982 will be added from VA/DoD records. To get a Premium account, service members and veterans can visit the eBenefits website and use the DS Logon Registration Wizard’s online identity authentication tool. DoD Common Access Cards (CAC) can also be used to obtain a DS Logon premium account online. DFAS My Pay Logon and passwords of retirees can be used for the purpose of self-authentication to obtain their DS Logon premium account online. eBenefits (via single sign on) can be instantly accessed by users who are upgraded on MyHealtheVet and have a DS Logon. DS Logon can be obtained by veterans who receive financial benefits from VA through direct deposit. This can be done by calling 1-800-827-1000, and choosing option 7. By visiting a TRICARE Service Center or the Regional Office of VA, you can personally verify your identity. To do this, you must bring: A government issued photo ID, i.e. a passport, ID card, driver’s license, etc. A secondary form of identification, i.e. picture ID, Social Security card, or birth certificate. An original or certified copy of your DD-214.
