SGLI What Happens If You Don’t Name A Beneficiary?

We encourage you to designate a beneficiary and file it along with your uniformed service, in order to avoid any confusion. The surviving spouse receives the proceeds as per the order of precedence, then children if any and then to parents and finally to the duly appointed executor or estate administrator.
