Is there insurance for traumatic injuries?

The VA’s new Service members Group Life Insurance Traumatic Injury Protection (TSGLI) program has been added to the America’s fighting force financial security program. The Prudential Financial Inc.’s financial insurer provides payments through this new program and the payments range from $ 25,000 to $100,000 for the service members who were on active duties and suffered from traumatic injuries. The program was initiated on December 1, 2005 and was placed to financially help the families of military people by providing healing and medical care for an extended time period. The benefits are payable retroactively to October 7, 2001, for the veterans and service members who have experienced traumatic injuries while serving through the operations in Iraqi freedom or during Operations Enduring Freedom. The eligible veterans and service members are identified by the Department of Defense and VA.
