If both parents of a child have SGLI, who will receive the proceeds of a claim on the child?

The individual who has the longest coverage eligibility will be paid with the proceeds. In case of a divorce or separation, the member who has the custody of the child would receive the payment in lump sum. They will be provided with an option for selecting the mode of lump sum payment which includes checks, Prudential Alliance Account or Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT).
