Did you know Military retirees need to update their DEERS record when eligible for Medicare?

Once Military Retirees reach the age of 65 and become eligible for Medicare, they are required to update their DEERS record and also get a Retired Identification Card that lasts for the rest of their lives. The new Identification Card has a new DoD ID Number on the front of the card and a DoD Benefits number on the back. Your Social Security Number is no longer printed on the card. You can make an online appointment or visit a nearby DEERS/RAPIDS Identification office with 2 government-issued Identification forms.
