Are former Prisoners of War (POWs) entitled to any special benefits?

Former Prisoners of Wars are entitled to a special priority for enrollment in VA healthcare benefits even if their illness or injury is not service related. They are also exempt from means test co-payments for medications and outpatient medical care. However, they have the same co-pay rules as other veterans for extended care. They also are now eligible for dental care without any length-of-internment requirement.
